Websites for Dundee businesses

Dundee's waterfront got a V&A and a BID — the indie shops and trades in DD1–DD5 need a website that doesn't cost the earth.

Dundee rebuilt its waterfront around the V&A and Discovery Point, and the trades around Broughty Ferry and Lochee are still very much the backbone. The McManus sits in the middle, Cox's Stack rises over the old jute works, and Slessor Gardens pulls the lot together. I work with cafés, creatives, tradesmen and small agencies across DD1 to DD5 — usually the same brief, same price, same week.

Working with Dundee

Dundee still calls itself the city of jute, jam and journalism — the old Keiller's marmalade works, Cox's Stack chimney over Lochee, and the DC Thomson publishing house are the obvious anchors. The working economy is more indie: games studios, a long tail of independent shops, plumbers, salons and corner cafés. The Courier runs a regular tracker of empty and occupied high street units, and the new Dundee BID was approved in early 2026 to give traders a shared pot of cash for the city centre.

Every Dundee site is hand-coded, mobile-first, and shipped on its own domain. There's nothing for you to maintain — hosting, SSL, backups, updates and small content edits are all in the £25/month plan. You'll deal directly with me from brief to launch, by email or WhatsApp, in plain English.

Real Dundee small businesses, not stock photos

Every Dundee brief lands somewhere on the same map of shops, salons, trades and indie operators. Here are some of the real Dundee businesses I've researched while writing this page — the kind of place a clean £25/month site is built for.

FAQs

Dundee web design — common questions

Do you cover Broughty Ferry, Lochee, Stobswell and the rest of the DD postcodes?

+

Yes — anywhere in DD1 through DD5. The £25/month plan and the 1–2 week turnaround are the same whether you're a café in the West End, a salon in Broughty Ferry, or a joiner out in Lochee. I just need a brief and I'll come to you.

Will you sort out my Google Business Profile so Dundee customers can find me?

+

No — and that's deliberate. Google Business Profile work isn't in the £25/month plan, and I don't take it on. What I do build is a clean, fast website on your own domain that you can link to from your profile, your van and your Instagram. If you want the GBP side handled, the Dundee and Angus Chamber can point you to local specialists.

Can you build a checkout for my shop or café in Dundee?

+

I can do a tidy product or menu showcase on your own domain, but full e-commerce checkout is not something I offer — handling payments is a different conversation. The showcase approach is usually enough for indie traders, and you keep the £25/month flat plan.

How long does a Dundee site take to go live?

+

From agreed brief to a live link on your own domain, it's usually one to two weeks. I write the copy, hand-code the site, register the domain in your name, and do a small round of edits before it goes live. Hosting, SSL and backups are all in the £25/month fee.

Do you do SEO, blogs, or Google Business Profile?

+

No — and that's deliberate. The £25/month plan is for a clean, quick website on its own domain, with the basic on-page SEO sorted (sensible page titles, descriptions, fast loads). It is not a marketing package. If you want someone to actively manage your Google Business Profile, run a blog, or chase rankings, this isn't the right service — I'd rather say so upfront.
