Websites for Dartford businesses

Dartford sits at the south end of the QEII Crossing — the Orchard Theatre, Central Park and a high street running past the Priory Centre.

Dartford is the principal town of the Borough of Dartford in north-west Kent, 18 miles south-east of central London and built around the river Darent. The town spine runs from Hythe Street and the High Street down through the Priory Shopping Centre (1970s) and the Orchards Shopping Centre (1980s), with Central Park sitting just south. The Dartford Crossing — QEII Bridge southbound, Dartford Tunnel northbound — comes ashore at the borough's northern edge. The Orchard Theatre sits in the town centre. Most local jobs I see are tradesmen across DA1, DA2 and DA4, plus cafés and retail off the High Street.

Working with Dartford

Dartford's town centre is anchored by two malls — The Priory and the Orchards — and a pedestrianised High Street stretch where Primark (58-60 High Street, DA1 1DN) sits alongside a thinning row of independents. The Dartford Plan, adopted by Dartford Borough Council in April 2024, sets out the council's policy for the town centre, Ebbsfleet and the rest of the borough through to 2037. Kent County Council is running a town centre improvement scheme funded by a £4.3m SELEP Local Growth Fund grant, £7.7m from the Homes and Communities Agency and developer contributions, focused on junctions, bus priority and the pedestrian and cycle links to Dartford station. The Westgate redevelopment plan, reported by Kent Online in 2024, will replace a town-centre car park with a 'car-free' boutique cinema, town village and homes scheme. Most of my local work is tradesmen, salons and small retailers across DA1, DA2 and DA4.

Every Dartford site is hand-coded, mobile-first, and shipped on its own domain. There's nothing for you to maintain — hosting, SSL, backups, updates and small content edits are all in the £25/month plan. You'll deal directly with me from brief to launch, by email or WhatsApp, in plain English.

Real Dartford small businesses, not stock photos

Every Dartford brief lands somewhere on the same map of shops, salons, trades and indie operators. Here are some of the real Dartford businesses I've researched while writing this page — the kind of place a clean £25/month site is built for.

  • Town centre retail

The Priory (1970s) and Orchards (1980s) covered malls still anchor the pedestrianised High Street, supplemented by chains like Primark at 58-60 High Street, despite Bluewater four miles east pulling regional footfall.

  • Borough administration

Dartford is the principal town of the Borough of Dartford and seat of Dartford Borough Council, whose 2024 Local Plan (The Dartford Plan to 2037) is the statutory framework for town centre, Ebbsfleet and borough-wide planning.

  • Live performance and culture

The Orchard Theatre in the town centre is the borough's main receiving house and is named in the council's 2024 Westgate redevelopment plans as the cultural anchor the scheme is designed to complement.

Plans for a 'car-free' Westgate redevelopment in Dartford town centre — replacing the existing car park with a boutique cinema, town village and homes scheme designed to complement the nearby Orchard Theatre — were reported by Kent Online in 2024.

FAQs

Dartford web design — common questions

Do you build sites for businesses across DA1, DA2 and DA4?

+

Yes — anywhere in the Borough of Dartford, including Temple Hill, Stone, Wilmington and Joydens Wood. The £25/month plan and 1-2 week turnaround are the same wherever you are in the borough. Most of my Dartford jobs are tradesmen, cafés and small High Street retailers.

Will you set up my Google Business Profile or run SEO for me?

+

No — and that's deliberate. The £25 plan covers the website itself: hand-coded, on your own domain, with hosting, SSL, backups and same-day small edits. Basic on-page SEO (titles, descriptions, fast loads) is included, but I don't do Google Business Profile management, ranking work, blogs, paid ads or social. If you want those, I'll point you somewhere local.

How quickly can a Dartford small business site go live?

+

Usually 1-2 weeks from agreed brief to live link, assuming you've got photos, a phone number and a rough idea of what you want on the page. Smaller jobs — a one-page tradesman site or a single café page — often turn around faster. Once you've signed off the copy and layout, it goes live on a domain I've registered in your name.

I'm a tradesman working out of DA2 — is this the right service for me?

+

Yes — that's most of my Dartford book. A short, fast-loading site with your services, phone number, a contact form, and a link clean enough to put on your van or in a Facebook post. £25 a month covers hosting, the domain, SSL, backups and small content edits, with no setup fee and no contract to sign.

Do you do SEO, blogs, or Google Business Profile?

+

No — and that's deliberate. The £25/month plan is for a clean, quick website on its own domain, with the basic on-page SEO sorted (sensible page titles, descriptions, fast loads). It is not a marketing package. If you want someone to actively manage your Google Business Profile, run a blog, or chase rankings, this isn't the right service — I'd rather say so upfront.
